According to the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, there are around 10 million living descendants of the Mayflower in the United States. Worldwide, there may be as many as 35 million descendants.
The Mayflower set sail in September 1620 with 102 passengers and around 30 crew. Some were fleeing religious persecution, while others were traveling to America to start new businesses. Many of the travelers were family groups or couples, and three children were born on the voyage.
